At The Institute of Naturopathic Sleep Medicine, Dr. Darley provides naturopathic care for sleep disorders, especially insomnia, insufficient sleep, circadian rhythm problems, and sleep movement disorders. Treatment is guided by the unique Naturopathic Principles of Treat the Cause, Doctor as Teacher, and using the least force medicine that will be effective.

 

To improve your sleep Dr. Darley uses behavioral sleep medicine, focused nutritional supplements, light therapy, and botanical medicine. Treatment for a chronic sleep problem occurs over several months as your inherent sleep abilities are restored. 

Always in the office you have time to tell your sleep story, and ask questions so you understand what is going on with your sleep and why specific treatments are being used. Appointments vary from 30 to 60 minutes so you never feel rushed, but have the time you need. Dr. Darley is genuinely concerned, and that caring shows.

 

Public Education
Sadly, the most common sleep problem among adults and children is simply not getting enough hours of sleep each night. This lack of sufficient sleep has negative effects on our mood, cognitive performance, weight, and accident risk. Dr. Darley is committed to raising awareness about sleep health by regularly giving public health talks. She is available to speak to groups and corporations.

Dr. Darley is passionate about sleep health, and especially natural sleep. She believes that quality sleep is foundational to our health and well-being, along with diet and exercise. Since it is so basic, why not use natural therapies rather than synthetic pharmaceuticals?

 

In line with these beliefs, Dr. Darley decided to pioneer the field of Naturopathic Sleep Medicine. In 2003 she founded The Institute of Naturopathic Sleep Medicine, which is dedicated to patient care, public education about sleep health, and research on natural treatments for sleep disorders.

 

Dr. Catherine Darley combines her knowledge of sleep disorders with her training as a naturopathic physician to bridge these two fields. As a naturopath her expertise lies in providing natural and effective treatments for sleep problems. She helps all age groups, and especially enjoys working with children and their families. 

For relaxation Catherine enjoys getting together with her community, gardening, and playing with her kindergartner.
