Breakfast Speakers

Each month at the WBE Breakfast we have an inspirational speaker. Thank you to all of our speakers!  Our speaker for November 2007 was:

Amy Tucker

The Epiphany: A Catalyst for Change

Amy Tucker views sustainability as a mandate and inspiration for innovation and advancement. Tucker conceived of Matter Group after 12 years in high-tech and custom publishing, co-founding the company in 2005 with close friend and business maven, Sönny Spearman.

In 2004, Tucker took time off to travel and do research, turning her creative vision and publishing experience toward advancement in sustainability, where she seeks to influence individuals, businesses, and policy makers in ways that support the long-term health of our planet.

Tucker's brainchild, the Xeko collectable card game, features endangered species from the world's 34 conservation hotspots. Conceived as a multi-platform entertainment property, including television and film, Xeko offers children entertainment that's great fun, high quality, and good for the planet. 4% of Xeko net sales are donated to Conservation International (conservation.org) for hotspot conservation. The Xeko adventure, on sale since its launch in Seattle on Earth Day 2006, is already a hit with kids and has won four prestigious national awards. Xeko's main mission is to inspire the next generation of eco-leaders through enriching and exciting game play.

An outdoor enthusiast and avid hiker and snowboarder, Tucker serves on the Seattle Art Museum's Contemporary Art Council and guest teaches at Seattle's School of Visual Concepts. She's currently learning to play acoustic guitar. A Boettcher Scholar, Tucker graduated magna cum laude from The Colorado College.
