Lisa Quast

"Creating a Strategy for Your Success”

When, at the tender age of 12, Lisa Quast, found her hopes and dreams dissolving as a result of a sudden and potentially catastrophic medical condition, she was faced with a dilemma that alone, she couldn’t have begun to conquer.   But conquer it she did, with the help of an advocate who taught her how to approach obstacles and access the sleeping talent and resilience that rested in her own young heart.   It turns out that those early, hard lessons instilled a foundation of self knowledge that Lisa would find invaluable years later.

According to Lisa, the path to business and career success takes more than just brains and elbow grease.   In spite of doing everything right: graduation with honors from college, finding the right employer, a job with career potential and working hard, Lisa found herself going nowhere fast. Underutilized, underpaid and without a career strategy, Lisa felt powerless over her own future.

But all of that changed when she decided to take action. By applying her knowledge of how products are marketed Lisa developed a plan to assess, modify and market herself in order to achieve the job of her dreams. Biographical Information for Lisa Quast

Lisa Quast is the founder and President of Career Woman, Inc. and author of the award-winning book “Your Career, Your Way: Personal Strategies for Achieving Your Career Aspirations”. As a former Executive Vice President and General Manager of Phillips Healthcare, a $12 billion company, Lisa has achieved uncommon career success in traditionally male-dominated companies and industries. Today she uses her knowledge and insights to help others, and women in particular, become more successful at work. Lisa is a widely recognized business consultant and speaker with a client list that includes leading companies such as Amazon.com, Microsoft, The Boeing Company, Sleep Country USA, Philips, BECU, MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions, Concur, Chameleon Technologies, ZAAZ, and others.

She has served as an educational resource and keynote speaker for The University of Washington, Everett Community College, North Seattle Community College, Women's Sororities, the Association of Women in Communications, the American Society of Women Accountants, the Association of Women in Computing, the Society of Women Engineers, the International Association of Administrative Professionals, the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women, and others.

In 2005 Lisa was named one of the top 40 under 40 business leaders in Seattle by the Puget Sound Business Journal, in 2007 she earned the "A Woman to Celebrate" award for achievements and involvement in the community from the ACT Theatre, YWCA of Seattle-King and Snohomish Counties, the Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and in 2008 Lisa’s book won a Global Book of the Year Finalist Award in the “Career” category from ForeWord Magazine.

August Breakfast

Our August breakfast is an annual, invitation only special event dedicated to recognizing and celebrating our volunteers. We will be back to our regular breakfast schedule on September 9th with Janis Avery, CEO of Treehouse, who will speak on the topic of: Challenge, Change and Creativity - How To Turn Life's Obstacles into Business Opportunities (or Opportunities for Growth).
