Andelcare

Marla Beck

Andelcare is the premier non-medical home care agency in King County because of our ability to match a personal assistant that has the appropriate personality and skills to fit into your home environment.

We exist to help families and friends care for the ones they love. We provide companionship, homemaking and personal care services.

Our caring service makes it possible for the elderly and other adults to maintain as much independence as possible, by providing the appropriate in home assistance and companionship. In that way we lift spirits not only of the person in need, but of the family caregiver as well.

Our services provide peace of mind for you, your family and friends. Owner Marla Beck's interest and passion in working with seniors started when she was in high school. As a Sea Cadet, Marla worked closely with retired military veterans in local veteran's homes. Andelcare began in 2003 as At Home Care. The name Andelcare comes from the Czech word andel, meaning angel. In 2007, the company's name changed to honor Marla's maternal grandfather; an immigrant from Czechoslovakia who lived to be 102 years old and more closely reflects the high level of compassionate care the company offers.

Marla has over 35 years experience in the service sector of business in the local Puget Sound area. She has a business degree from the University of Washington and started her career as a CPA. She has worked for Arthur Andersen, Washington Mutual, Bon Marche, United Way and Bank of America. Just prior to starting Andelcare, Marla was Vice President of Private Client Services for Marsh & McLennan, a fortune 500 Company. Having a very well rounded background includes being a Certified Senior Advisor, which enables her to meet the key needs and issues concerning mature adults. Her life experiences make her uniquely qualified to deal with the many issues that come up for clients and their family members when age or disability affects their independence.

Wanting a career that made a difference and calling on her passion in helping seniors, Marla is able to meld her entrepreneurial spirit with her dedication to public service.
