About the Leaders Jean Clark is a Sr. Program Manager for XO Communications, a Telecommunications company based in Herndon, VA. Jean works from XO’s Seattle office leading a team of talented Project and Program Managers that support XO’s five Care and Repair Centers around the US. Jean has successfully initiated, launched and led a wide variety of projects and initiatives aimed at improving overall performance of customer care and repair agents as well as developing and improving leadership skills of the entire Management team in XO’s Care organization.
Ms. Clark is currently leading an iniative aimed at improving XO’s Customer focus and cross-functional team of Customer Advocates that includes representation from Sales, Service Delivery, Operations and Customer Care. She was recently awarded one of XO’s top honors, the annual eXamples award which included a trip for her and her husband to the Bahamas.
Jean is a two time WBE Board Alumna serving as the Speaker’s Chair in 1994 and the Secretary in 2003. Jean is committed to the continued growth and success of WBE and believes strongly in WBE’s mission to provide the support and opportunities for learning and development that help women become strong business and community leaders.
Jean also volunteers as a speaker for the FEAR project (www.fearproject.org) and as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children in Foster Care. Jean and her husband Darin are licensed foster parents.
Kathleen Hill is a Psychotherapist and Registered Counselor in private practice since 1992. Her firm, Taproot Holistic Counseling provides counseling, workshops and support groups for individuals, families and couples. She provides services for treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and stress, family of origin issues, divorce recovery, and life transitions. Kathleen also supports clients in parenting and the issues of the sandwich generation. Her current work specializes in the integration of traditional psychotherapeutic and complementary treatment modalities, including hypnotherapy, energy healing, and extensive work with music and sound healing for mental health, treatment of chronic pain, illness, MTBI (mild traumatic brain injury), and spiritual growth. She helps her clients in providing problem solving "maps" and tools to access intuition, creativity, and spiritual integration. Kathleen is especially interested in working with couples and families in conflict; providing complementary treatment for individuals with brain injuries and chronic health issues; and developing authentic relationships and communication skills using movement, stillness, and partner dance. A graduate of Bastyr University/Leadership Institute of Seattle and Augustana College with a BME in Music Education, Psychology. Kathleen is a former WBE Board Member and Director and currently serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors.
Ms. Kakiuchi is the Executive Producer of a culinary educational DVD, The Art of Sushi, which was released in December of 2007 and stars Naomi and her Mom on the Basics of Sushi Rolling. She is also a contributing author of The American Dietetic Association Cooking Healthy Across America Cookbook, a compilation of healthy regional recipes by dietitians from all across the country. Naomi serves as Chair of the Board of the Women’s Business Exchange, past chair of the Food and Culinary Professionals, a Dietetic Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association. Naomi enjoys training year round along side her vivacious 80 year old mother, sister and cousins to compete each year in the Danskin Triathlon.
